Final RAAF CT-4 Flight Marks a Significant Moment in Aviation Training History

NZAero CEO Stephen Burrows attended the CT-4 Farewell and 100 Squadron 10th Anniversary Event at RAAF Base Point Cook, Australia, on 18 June 2026. 

The event marked the final Royal Australian Air Force CT-4 flight, recognising the aircraft’s long-standing role in military flight training and aviation heritage. 

The CT-4A featured at the farewell, A100-077, was originally delivered as A19-077 in 1982 and was the last of 51 CT-4A aircraft delivered to Australia. Over its service life, the aircraft became part of an important chapter in Australian military aviation training, with a legacy connected to generations of pilots, instructors, maintainers, and aviation personnel. 

For NZAero, the occasion highlighted the contribution New Zealand-built aircraft have made to aviation training, operations, and capability over many decades. The CT-4 continues to hold an important place in the region’s aviation history, both as a training aircraft and as part of the wider story of New Zealand aircraft manufacturing. 

The farewell also coincided with 100 Squadron’s 10th anniversary, adding further significance to the occasion and its focus on preserving aviation heritage.
