Skydive Business Development Manager

A recent joint venture agreement with China means that significant growth is on the horizon and we have an incredibly unique opportunity for a Business Development Manager with a passion and deep understanding of the Skydive industry to help us achieve new heights.

This newly established and exciting role is an important part of Pacific Aerospace’s diversification strategy to capitalise on the manufacture of our world-class Skydive aircraft the P-750, and establish our own skydive business opportunities around the world. This role will be responsible for creating a Global Business Development Strategy with a particular focus on China. 

China’s rapidly expanding general aviation market, along with our joint venture relationship opens the door to a currently untapped and huge growth potential market. We are looking for someone with a passion & thorough understanding of how skydive operations work, together with a business head who can capture the global opportunities in a well-developed business strategy, and then implement it. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing & implementing an International Skydive Business Development Plan
  • Identifying potential drop zone opportunities and assessing the feasibility of establishing operations

Expected for this role:

  • Proven experience and success in a business development role
  • Thorough understanding of the skydive industry
  • Ability to identify opportunities & turn them in to strategic objectives
  • Ability to research & conduct feasibility analysis of potential drop zone locations around the world
  • Must be available and willing to travel extensively

Pacific Aerospace is a NZ based company with manufacturing & design operations based in Hamilton. The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively around the world, and therefore we can be flexible with the home-base location.  As a minimum there will be approximately one overseas trip per month, with the possibility of extended periods away from the home-base location depending on the market strategy.

 

Technical Writer

A recent joint venture agreement with China means that significant growth is on the horizon and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Writer to help us achieve new heights.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Writer to lead Pacific Aerospace’s Technical Library and to take responsibility for creating and maintaining Technical Literature and Documentation for the company’s growing aircraft fleet.

You’ll be working closely with the design engineers and aircraft maintenance team turning their expert knowledge and experience into easily understandable flight and maintenance manuals for our customers.

You will be a team player with the necessary skills to meet the following key accountabilities:

  • To create and maintain Technical Publications including (but not limited to); POH, AMM’s, IPC’s, SL’s & SB’s
  • To understand and comply with industry standards and the company’s quality standards
  • To identify, implement & maintain effective processes and methods in the creation and maintenance of technical publications and documentation 

Ideally you will have technical documentation experience in an aviation or other technical/related environment, well-developed interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate and work with cross functional teams in a confident and positive customer-orientated manner.

You will have a high standard of computer literacy and Framemaker experience would be an advantage.

 

International Sales Representative

A recent joint venture agreement with China means that significant growth is on the horizon and we have an incredibly unique opportunity for an International Sales Representative with a passion and deep understanding of the General Aviation industry to help us achieve new heights.

This newly established and exciting role is an important part of Pacific Aerospace’s mission to become a major General Aviation aircraft manufacturer. The P-750XSTOL is recognised around the world as a tough, reliable, easily maintained high performance utility aircraft with many advantages over its single engine turboprop competitors.  With over 110 P-750s sold to date, and new developments on the horizon, the P-750 is set to take significant market share in 2017 and beyond.

Reporting to the General Manager – Global Markets, this role will be largely independent of responsibilities other than sourcing, qualifying, and closing sales for the P-750XSTOL aircraft.

You will be responsible for:

  • Achieving an agreed number of P-750XSTOL aircraft sales, as set by the Board.
  • Identifying potential customers around the world by market and application.
  • Developing compelling Sales propositions for prospective customers.
  • Visiting customers as required to secure contracts.
  • Advising the Board and Senior Management team of Pacific Aerospace on business opportunities, competitive activity, and global trends.
  • Liaising with our global dealer network to provide assistance and consultancy to help identify and close sales and business opportunities.

Expected for this role:

  • Proven experience and success in aircraft sales, or similarly appropriate high value products of an engineered nature.
  • Tenacity and doggedness.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, often at short notice, and to be able to work non-standard hours to accommodate international time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written & oral, including a very high level of English language skills.
  • Experience working cohesively as part of a high-performance team.
  • Ability to work autonomously & deliver on deadlines.

Remuneration will be a combination of retainer and commission with details to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Sheetmetal Fabricators

We seek a number of enthusiastic, team oriented people to join our aircraft parts manufacturing division. Applicants must have previous experience in the aircraft, sheet metal or light fabrication trades, be able to read and interpret engineering drawings (imperial measurements), have excellent handcraft skills and an eye for detail. A reliable, stable work record is essential as is the ability to work cooperatively in small teams. Applicants must have a good standard of English, maths and computer skills. Aircraft Structures Fitters - Fuse, Wing and Flight Controls

We have a number of vacancies in our Assembly Department for aircraft fitters and preferably with structures experience to work in our Wing, Fuse and Flight Controls teams. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years relevant aviation industry experience along with the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifically Imperial measurements
  • Work to limits of 0.030” or better
  • Manufacture and assemble parts from engineering drawings
  • Use jigs to manufacture aircraft assemblies
  • Use of various aviation engineering tools, equipment and machinery
  • Sound knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Tidy record keeping techniques
  • Commitment to quality
  • Be able to work as part of a team

Attention to quality, the ability to work cooperatively in small teams and reliability are essential.
